Rayo Vallecano de Madrid coach José Rodríguez said their 2-0 defeat of Arsenal LFC "is something great for Spanish women's football" but knows it will be difficult to hold on to their lead next Thursday. In the night's other UEFA Women's Champions League round of 16 first legs, Olympique Lyonnais and FCF Juvisy Essonne both won away from home. UEFA.com rounds up the reaction from all six teams in action.

Rayo Vallecano de Madrid 2-0 Arsenal LFC
José Rodríguez, Rayo Vallecano coach
I feel satisfied and proud. If we win once we can do it twice. Perhaps this is the year we make history. This is something great for Spanish women's football and Rayo Vallecano. I don't know what is going to happen in London but tonight's match will be remembered for a long time. Arsenal are still one of the favourites to win the Champions League. They play in a small stadium and if it rains the match there could be very difficult for us. They are a very physical and tough team.

Laura Harvey, Arsenal manager
We started very slowly and I'm very disappointed with that. The crowd was good; we don't have that kind of crowd in the UK. The game became hard in the second half. They dropped deep and played on the counterattack. We need that bit of quality to play them down but we couldn't find it tonight. I like to think we will do better but it will be hard to come back from 2-0 down. We need to keep and pass the ball better.

FC Rossiyanka 1-6 Olympique Lyonnais
Tatiana Egorova, Rossiyanka coach

Playing the Russian Cup final three days ago [beating FC Energy Voronezh 2-1] was a negative factor as some players probably didn't have time to recover, and we played very poorly in defence. Lyon played very well and us scoring six or seven goals there next week will be something out of science fiction.

Lotta Schelin, scorer of four Lyon goals
Before the game we were not even sure we would win, and certainly not 6-1. I am delighted for the whole team and for how I played. Rossiyanka did not look too bad in attack but their defence was not as solid as we expected.

Torres 1-2 FCF Juvisy Essonne
Patrizia Panico, Torres striker

I thought we made a great start, playing very well. Unfortunately we were worried about conceding, instead of trying to score ourselves and gain the advantage. The goal we conceded in the last seconds of the first half left us in a very difficult situation. Juvisy played tight to exploit the spaces we left on the counter. We tried to equalise in the second half, with a more positive attitude, and I don't think we deserved to concede again but [Tamara] Pintus's goal keeps us in the tie. If we play like we can, we can defeat Juvisy.

Sandrine Mathivet, Juvisy coach
Torres were very difficult opponents, and well played to them. They are a good team, with decent skills and good organisation. Moreover Torres have some players that can make the difference individually at any moment. We had a great match, perfect in every minute, and we won by exploiting the space left by Torres with our counterattacks. I'm very happy with my team, because we got a great result ahead of the second leg.
