UEFA has awarded RUV the media rights in Iceland for the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

RUV and RUV+ will ensure extensive free-to air exposure and a wide coverage of the tournament, to be played in Denmark next June, through its live broadcast of all matches, including the semi-finals and the final, together with highlights programmes on each matchday. Additionally, all matches will be streamed live on the broadcaster's website, www.ruv.is.

Iceland were grouped with hosts Denmark, Switzerland and Belarus in the 9 November draw for the final tournament, where the team will become the first from the country to compete in a men's UEFA European Championship at any level. Iceland were the 29-goal leading scorers in qualifying, knocking Germany out in the group stage before getting the better of Scotland in a play-off for the finals.
