Grassroots football in November
Friday 30 October 2009The finals of the annual skills competition in Finland, tournaments in Germany and Austria and the conclusion of the San Marino Under-11 and Under-13 national championships are the main grassroots items on the agenda in November.
Finnish skills
International players Mikael Forssell, Joonas Kolkka and Laura Österberg are all on the roll of honour of the skills competition for ten to 17-year-olds, which has taken place in Finland every year since 1954. This year's challenges, based on running, dribbling, passing, heading and shooting, take place in Kokkola on 14-15 November and you can find out more about the competition by clicking here and watching our special feature on the UEFA Training Ground.
German tournament
Also taking place in November is the JugendamBall-Cup competition in Germany, while there are two youth tournaments in neighbouring Austria: the Mattighofner Junior Hallencup − featuring sides from Austria and Germany − for Under-9s, Under-12s and Under-14s and the Erwin Resch Gedenkturnier for children under the age of ten.
Final flourish
Meanwhile, in San Marino the final three rounds of the autumn phase of the U11 national championship take place, while the last five rounds of fixtures of the winter phase of the U13s event are held, both competitions concluding in the last week of the month.
