Germany coach Silvia Neid has announced an 18-player squad for the FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland on 10 May in Cottbus.
Hingst returns
The holders have already beaten Russia, Scotland and Switzerland in the group, and in February won the prestigious Algarve Cup for the first time. Since then defender Ariane Hingst has returned to the squad after qualifying as a physiotherapist. "I am happy that Ari is back," Neid said. Also available is Martina Müller, who picked up an injury in Portugal. "She will have the chance to show that she belongs to the team," Neid said.
